April 01, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian Exchange Limited has stepped up efforts to protect young investors through a targeted educational programme on market integrity and fraud prevention.
The initiative, part of Global Money Week 2026, brought together over 200 students from Covenant Child Academy, Testimony College, and Green Pastures High School.
It was designed to bridge the gap between rising financial ambition and the need for regulatory awareness.
Held under the X-Tour initiative, the session gave students direct access to key players in Nigeria’s capital market.
Representatives from NGX Regulation and the Exchange’s Trading and Products division led discussions on the theme “Smart Money Talks.”
With the growing use of digital investment platforms, facilitators stressed due diligence and vigilance.
Students were taught how to identify “get-rich-quick” scams and advised to deal only with licensed operators.
Beyond fraud prevention, participants were introduced to core market instruments such as equities, fixed income securities, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
The programme also featured a digital engagement session with United Capital Plc and financial influencer Stanley Onuorah, known as the “Online Banker,” to provide accessible investment guidance.
The initiative underscores NGX’s commitment to building a financially informed and resilient generation.
