July 03, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed the week on a negative note as sustained profit-taking across key counters dragged market performance lower, with investors losing ₦1.80 trillion despite a significant increase in trading activity.

The Services Industry followed with 509.473 million shares worth ₦16.353 billion, while the Consumer Goods Industry ranked third with 216.344 million shares valued at ₦8.057 billion.
Trading in Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc, Access Holdings Plc, and Ikeja Hotel Plc accounted for 1.405 billion shares worth ₦28.370 billion, contributing 36.78 percent and 18.37 percent to total equity turnover volume and value, respectively.
