SAN FRANCISCO, September 07, (THEWILL) – The Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators, on Thursday, announced the withdrawal of the quit notice it issued to northerners and Yorubas living and doing business in the Niger Delta region.
The coalition, in a statement signed by 13 militant leaders said the decision to withdraw the quit notice was reached after consultations with some stakeholders in the region.
THEWILL recalls that the militants had issued the quit notice following the notice issued by Arewa Youths to the Igbos to leave the North on or before October 1, 2017 which has been withdrawn.
The militants also withdrew its threat to attack oil platforms in the region on September 10, 2017, if oil blocks/wells owned by northerners were not returned and left for the people of the region.
Signatories to the statement John Duku of the Niger Delta Watchdogs and also Convener: Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators; Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteers), Osarolor Nedam (Niger Delta Warriors), Henry Okon Etete (Niger Delta Peoples Fighters), Jeremiah Anthony (Movement for Actualization of Niger Delta Republic) and Francis Okoroafor (Niger Delta Freedom Redemption Army).
Others are Asukwo Henshaw (Bakassi Freedom Fighters), Ibinabo Horsfall (Niger Delta Movement for Justice), Duke Emmanson (Niger Delta Fighters Network), Inibeghe Adams (Niger Delta Freedom Mandate) Abiye Tariah (Niger Delta Development Network), and Joshua Ebere (Renewed Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta).
