November 17, (THEWILL) – Nigeria on Wednesday pledged to expand investment and further enhance economic cooperation with the Republic of Zambia.
Nigeria High commissioner to the Republic of Zambia, Ambassador Nwannebuike Ominyi, made this known when he presented a letter of credence to Mr Hakainda Hichilema, the newly elected President of Zambia at the State House in Lusaka.
Ambassador Ominyi described the relations between Nigeria and Zambia as excellent and extended President Muhammadu Buhari’s congratulation to the new Zambian Leader on his election last August.
The Nigeria envoy noted that the economic development challenges facing the two countries are surmountable as long as the two countries continue to deepen their collaborative efforts.
He assured Zambia of the readiness of the Buhari administration to expand investment and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Zambia.
In his speech, Zambian President Hakainda Hichilema said his country and Nigeria will continue to share a long-standing relations that has been premised on shared cultures and values.
He said that the two countries have continued to make efforts to further enhance bilateral relations demonstrated by the presence of Nigeria investments in Zambia, especially in financial  and manufacturing services.
