March 05, (THEWILL) — Nigeria will launch its National Single Window (NSW) platform on March 27, in a major push to reform and modernise its trade processes.
Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, described the initiative introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nearly two years ago as a transformational fiscal reform aimed at streamlining procedures, eliminating duplication, and boosting competitiveness.
NSW Coordinator, Tola Fakolade, stated that the first phase will enable online processing of import permits, electronic cargo manifest submissions, and a centralised risk management system. He added that documents will be submitted once and shared across relevant agencies, with user training and pilot testing already underway.
The Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, reaffirmed support, alongside the Central Bank of Nigeria and other key agencies.
The platform is expected to reduce cargo clearance timelines, enhance transparency, and strengthen trade facilitation nationwide.
