February 28, (THEWILL) – Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has emerged winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Kebbi, Sokoto, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Kaduna States.
The Collation Officer for the presidential election in Kebbi state, Prof. Usman Saidu, said the PDP polled 285,175 votes to defeat Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 248,088 votes
Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) standard bearer, had 10,682 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), scored 5,038 votes.
While total registered voters was 1,983,985, the number of accredited voters was 599,201.
Also, while total votes cast were 591,475, total valid votes stood at 559,522 and 31,953 votes were rejected.
In Sokoto, Atiku Abubakar also won the presidential election in the state, securing 288,679 votes.
Kabiru Bala, the state collation officer and vice-chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), who presented the results on Tuesday, said APC candidate, BolaTinubu, polled 285,444 votes, Obi secured 6,568 and Kwankwaso got 1,300 votes.
The presidential candidates of Accord Party (AP) scored 115 votes, Action Alliance (AA) got 110 votes, AAC 128 votes, ADC 486 votes, ADB 1,105 votes and APGA 808 votes.
The candidates of APM secured 273 votes, APP had 219 votes, BP 126 votes, NRM 681 votes, PRP 324 votes, SDP 120 votes, YPP 175 votes and ZLP polled 208 votes.
Also in Akwa Ibom State, Atiku won the Presidential election with 214,012 votes.
The APC’s Bola Tinubu, came second with 160,620 votes, and Labour Party, third with 132, 683 votes.
While the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) came fourth and fifth with 27,179 and 7, 796 votes respectively.
The State Collation officer for the 2023 Presidential election in Akwa Ibom, Prof. Emmanuel Adigio, Vice Chancellor of the Nigeria Maritime University, said the total number of votes cast was 587,417.
Adigio said registered voters were 2,357,418, accreditated voters were 594,450, total valid votes were 555,089, and rejected votes were 32, 328.
Similarly, Atiku has been declared winner of the presidential polls in Baylesa State
The State Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Lilian Salami, said the PDP scored a total of 68,818 votes topping the 49,975 of Labour Party’s Peter Obi and 42,572 of the standard bearer of the APC, Bola Tinubu.
Cumulatively, Bayelsa State had 1,056,862 registered voters and 177,368 accredited voters across its eight local government areas (LGAs).
It had 165,325 valid votes and 7,786 rejected votes, amounting to 173,111 total votes.
The former Vice President also won the presidential election in Kaduna State.
Atiku scored 554,360 while his closest opponent, Bola Tinubu, secured 399,293 votes.
According to the result, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), polled 294,494.
Atiku won the election in 14 LGAs while Obi and Tinubu won in seven and two LGAs respectively.
Kaduna Returning Officer, Professor Zayyan Umar while announcing the results said, “Total registered voters in the state was 4.335,208. Accredited voters were; 1,418,046.”
