January 14, (THEWILL) – About nine Army Generals belonging to the finance corps have officially retired from service.
A statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu said a Passing Out Parade was conducted on Friday, in honour of the nine senior officers.
The statement partly read, ” The Nigerian Army Finance Corps, had earlier honoured nine of its senior officers in a Pulling Out Parade organised to honour retired and senior officers of the Corps on Friday, January 12, 2024.
“The retired senior officers honoured in the Pull Out Parade are Maj. Gen. AO Adetayo (retd), Maj. Gen. J.E Jakko (retd), Maj. Gen. A. R Bakare (retd), Maj. Gen. A. B. Adamu (retd), Brig. Gen. N. L. Isama (retd), Brig. Gen. O. F. Ohunyeye (rtd), Brig. Gen. O. A Adenuga (retd) and Brig Gen II Adamu (retd).
“The Nigerian Army Finance Corps WASA 2023 featured rich cultural performances by different cultural troupes, a tug of war between female soldiers and soldiers’ wives, presentation of awards to outstanding soldiers and prizes to performing cultural troupes.”
THEWILL had reported that no fewer than 113 generals from the Nigerian Army retired on December 19, 2023, bringing the total number of generals who retired within a month to 122.
