BEVERLY HILLS, April 23, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) is currently enlisting farmers and aggregators to its Agro Geo- Cooperative Model farming project, aimed at generating sustainable income.

In pursuant to this objective, the incentive based programme has initiated a plan of establishing 16,000 Agro- Cooperatives on 4 million hectares of farmland over Nigeria in a bid to employ 8 million small holder farmers and farmer leaders equally.

The goal of the Geo-Cooperative is geared towards combatting difficulties the COVID-19 and post COVID 19 era would pose on the agricultural sector.

NIRSAL believes that under this arrangement, sustenance, income generation and employment openings are available to farmers who would take advantage of this initiative.

The NIRSAL PLC is a non- financial institution owned and integrated with the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) to Redefine, Dimension, Measure, Re-Price and Share agribusiness-related credit risks in Nigeria. Thus, stimulating the flow of affordable finance and investments into the agricultural sector.
