June 12, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Sokoto State has deployed no fewer than 1,200 personnel to provide maximum security during this year’s Democracy Day celebrations.
The Commandant of Corps in the state, U.I. Alfadarai, also ordered the personnel to be stationed at identified flashpoints, volatile areas, and strategic locations to prevent vandalism of public property.
He added that the aim is to provide security and safety for citizens and prevent unnecessary infractions, vandalism, security breaches, and protect critical infrastructure and national assets.
“The deployment is guided by Operational Order No NSCDC/SSC/OPS/11/2025, with the Department of Operations and the CNAIP Department playing supervisory roles”, a statement to that effect by the command’s Spokesman, U.A. Sidi said.
The NSCDC emphasised the importance of information sharing and collaboration with relevant security agencies to tackle potential threats and miscreants.
It urged officers and men to display high levels of commitment and professionalism, while citizens are encouraged to be law-abiding and avoid any form of unnecessary constraint or nefarious acts.
The State Commandant also urged citizens to be law-abiding, avoid any form of unnecessary constraint and also refrain from all sorts of nefarious acts and infractions that will deter the sanctity of the State.
