September 10, (THEWILL) — A three-term councillor representing Ward 6 in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Adekunle Folarin, has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lift the suspension imposed on him over alleged anti-party activities.
Folarin made the appeal in a letter dated Wednesday and titled “Appeal for Lifting Suspension Order.” He pleaded with the party to reconsider the decision, expressing his continued loyalty to the APC.
The councillor admitted that he failed to appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee but attributed his absence to circumstances beyond his control.
He assured the party that he would cooperate fully with any further investigations and expressed confidence that he would eventually be vindicated.
Folarin wrote, “I tender my unreserved apology for not honouring the invitation of my ward’s fact-finding committee due to situations beyond my control.
“I hereby request the opportunity to present my exculpatory evidence on this matter. I am confident that a thorough investigation will reveal the truth and exonerate me.”
He also pledged his commitment to mobilising votes for the party in future elections, adding:
“I will continue to uphold the party’s values and work diligently with utmost loyalty towards delivering my ward and Sagamu Local Government for the APC.”
Reacting, the APC Publicity Secretary in Ogun State, Hon. Olufemi Nuberu, said the party would decide on Folarin’s appeal at the appropriate time.
“The party will decide appropriately,” Nuberu stated.
