April 08, (THEWILL) – Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, is set to establish a full-fledged film village in the ancient city of Ile-Ife.
Ronke Ademiluyi made this known while representing the monarch at the premiere of LADIRE, a television series coined to promote the traditional tie & dye (Adire), which was held at the Grand reception hall of the Enuwa Royal Palace, Ile-Ife.
Ademiluyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Adire Oodua Textile hub, also doubles as the Executive Producer of the TV series.
According to her, the TV series is a concept of the monarch, which would be turned into a 60 minutes episode series showing on African Magic.
“Ladire was conceptualised by the Ooni, to see how to do more for the youth through the entertainment industry, while we promote the skill of tie & dye.
“I am glad that our fathers and mothers who came to watch the premiere today showed love and support.”
Ladire television drama series is a young people-focused and campus-based show, centred on the life of Bewaji, a three-hundred level student of Economics at Obafemi
Awolowo University.
It is an intriguing drama that follows the journey of a young spirited girl into entrepreneurship while juggling academics.
After seeing a set of reoccurring visions, Bewaji discovered her destiny. She must re-establish the Adire textile business, which used to be the trademark of her family until her great grandmother died and the trade also died with her.
The TV series featured new and existing screen actors such as Jaye Kuti, Yemi Solade, Damilola Oni, Victoria Eniola, Obadare Akinade, Seyi Akinsola. The series is a high-end drama shot on a University campus.
