May 20, (THEWILL) – Overland Airways, Nigeria’s longest-serving private domestic carrier, has announced the resumption of flight operations to Warri (Osubi Airport), Delta State, from Lagos and Abuja, effective May 20, 2025.
According to the airline, flights will operate on the Warri-Lagos-Warri and Warri-Abuja-Warri routes every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with morning arrivals and departures to and from Warri.
The flight schedule includes departures from Lagos to Warri at 8:15am and a return flight at 12:30pm. Warri to Abuja flights will depart at 9:25am, while Abuja to Warri flights are scheduled for 11:05am.
Speaking on the development, Chief Operating Officer of Overland Airways, Mrs. Aderonke Emmanuel-James, said the airline’s return to Warri is in response to growing demand for reliable air transport connecting Delta State to Lagos and Abuja.
“Our return to Warri is driven by the yearnings of our customers for dependable air travel options. This route will strengthen economic and social ties between Delta State and other parts of Nigeria. To support this, we’re deploying our brand-new Embraer E-175 jet, which features both Premium and Economy Class cabins,” she stated.
The airline also highlighted its expanding route network, including the restoration of services from Lagos and Abuja to Jalingo, Taraba State, and new services to Minna, Niger State. Warri is the latest addition, with more destinations expected in the coming months.
“We’ve started with three weekly flights from Warri and plan to scale up to daily operations soon. We appreciate the support of the management and staff at Osubi Airport and assure our customers of the dependable service that defines Overland Airways,” Emmanuel-James added.
Overland Airways has transitioned from an all-turboprop fleet to a mixed fleet, incorporating brand-new Embraer E175 jets. The airline also renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification for the fifth consecutive time in October 2024, reinforcing its reputation as one of Africa’s safest and most reliable carriers.
