BEVERLY HILLS, May 26, (THEWILL) – Erstwhile National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff and the Chairman of the party’s Caretaker committee constituted last Saturday at the Convention in Port Harcourt, Senator Ahmed Makarfi were on Thursday excused from a meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT, presently holding in Abuja.
Sheriff had arrived the Transcorp Hilton Abuja venue of the meeting around 11:10 am and was followed five minutes later by the Caretaker Committee chairman. Both of them proceeded to the high table where they sat alongside the chairman of the board, Senator Jibril Wali and the secretary, Chief Ojo Maduekwe.
Senator Wali however announced shortly after that the BoT had a very important decision to take before the commencement of the meeting. Journalists covering the meeting were asked to leave at this point.
Barely five than five minutes after the reporters were excused from the hall, Senators Sheriff and Makarfi walked out of the meeting hall, rebuffing entreaties to speak with journalists.
