June 02, (THEWILL) – A Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party member in Sokoto State, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, has praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s efforts in promoting cohesion and political stability in the State during his two-year tenure.
Dingyadi, while acknowledging some shortcomings of the governor in certain sectors, also argued that Gov Aliyu’s achievements outweigh his challenges.
He highlighted that the governor has excelled in ensuring political cohesion and stability, beautification, township roads, rehabilitation of schools, and public health services.
“We should approach our differences with respect and understanding, fostering unity and constructive solutions to our challenges.
“It’s crucial to avoid politicising insecurity, as our common enemies don’t discriminate in their attacks.
“Prioritising Sokoto State’s interests and setting aside negative sentiments towards leaders will promote effective leadership and development in the state and nation.”
Dingyadi also urged the public to avoid abusive language and mudslinging, which can damage institutions and create disunity.
He emphasised the need for responsible and respectful discourse, focusing on unity and constructive solutions.
On the challenges ahead, the PDP Chieftain called on Gov Aliyu to intensify efforts in addressing security and water supply challenges, particularly in the state capital and eastern parts of the state.
He suggested collaboration with the federal government to tackle insecurity and solve the perennial water shortage affecting many communities.
He further stated that overall, the Governor’s achievements are highly commendable while also emphasising the need for continued improvement in key areas.
