April 10, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all chairmanship and councillorship seats in 21 local government areas of Adamawa State.

THEWILL reports that 18 political parties fielded candidates in the election conducted on Saturday.

Announcing the results on Sunday in Yola, the state capital, chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Isa Shettima, said only APC and PDP contested for the chairmanship elections out of the 18 political parties that participated.

When contacted, Abdullahi Mohammed, APC publicity secretary in the state, said there was no election conducted in the state as voting materials were not distributed at some polling units all.

He said APC as a party was compiling evidence and would soon make its position known on the exercise.

“There was no elections conducted at all across the 21 LGAs in the state. Government officials just sat down and wrote local government election results to favour them.

“APC is compiling evidence, very soon the party would make its stand known”, said Mohammed.
