August 25, (THEWILL) – Governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will be holding an emergency meeting this Thursday.

Expected to form the bedrock of the 13 governors’ Abuja meeting will be the crisis rocking its national leadership, which has seen the suspension by a Rivers State High Court of the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, a situation leading to a struggle for the seat by two factions within the National Working Committee.

A notice of the Thursday emergency meeting by the Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, Hon. C.I.D. Maduabum, is already in circulation, issued on Wednesday afternoon.

The notice said the meeting is holding courtesy a summons by the Chairman of the body, the Rt Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who is also the Sokoto State Governor.

Titled, “PDP Governors Summon An Emergency Meeting Again At Abuja,” the notice indicated that: “The Chairman of the PDP GOVERNORS FORUM , Rt Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, in consultation with his colleagues, has summoned an emergency meeting of the Forum to hold on Thursday 26th August, 2021 at 5pm.

“The meeting will discuss recent developments in the PDP.

“The Governors enjoined all PDP members and stakeholders to exercise patience as efforts are being made to ensure continued stability of the Party in the days ahead.”

Expected at the meeting are:  Abia State’s Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa State), Udom Gabriel Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom State), Bala Muhammed (Bauchi State), Douye Diri (Bayelsa State), Samuel Ortom (Benue State),  Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta State) and Godwin Obaseki (Edo State).

Others are: Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu State), Oluwaseyi Makinde              (Oyo State), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto State) and Darius Ishaku (Taraba State).
