May 11, (THEWILL) – The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), sitting in Abuja, has adjourned the pre-hearing of the petition filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, of the All Progressives Congress(APC), to Thursday, May 18, 2023.
A five-member panel of Justices, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, adjourned the date of hearing to Thursday, May 18, upon the request by the petitioner’s counsel and the confirmation of the agreement by counsels to the Respondents.
The APM is challenging the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.
In the petition marked CA/ABJ/PEPC/04/2022, the party is challenging the results of the presidential election on the grounds of alleged irregularities including the mutilation of election results.
The party also argued that Tinubu did not have a validly nominated vice presidential candidate, adding that Kashim Shettima, the Vice-President elect, was not validly sponsored by the APC.
Listed as 1st to 5th Respondents in the petition were INEC, APC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima and Kabir Masari.
