BEVERLY HILLS, August 30, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Sunday reported 138 confirmed new cases of the coronavirus, one of the lowest numbers in at least 12 weeks, to give credence to claims that the deadly pandemic has peaked and started to flatten.
The tally in the country as at Sunday stood at 53, 865 cases with 41, 513 recoveries and 1, 013 deaths (2 new deaths reported).
According to data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, Plateau State led again for the fifth day in row, adding 55 new cases, while Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in Nigeria, recorded 15, Ebonyi 11, Oyo 11 and Abia 8. See below for a full breakdown.
The NCDC also said it has so far tested 402, 070 samples as at August 29, 2020.
