BEVERLY HILLS, January 17, (THEWILL) –Â Operatives of the Zamfara state Command of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested four suspects for an alleged murder of a Fulani herdsman.
A statement on Sunday by the State Commissioner of police, Abutu Yaro, said the command also recovered 200 rustled cows.
Yaro, who disclosed that some weapons were recovered, added that the operatives also secured the release of a about eight persons who were abducted three weeks earlier.
“We recovered no fewer than 200 stolen cows, five AK 47 rifles, three vehicles and a large number of ammunitions.
“As a result of the ongoing peace engagement in Shinkafi Local Government Area, we have recovered one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 18 rounds of live ammunition”, he added.
Yaro restated the command’s readiness to constantly engage stakeholders in the state to ensure an effective fight against crime and violence.
