Police Doles Out ₦33m To Families Of Deceased Officers In Sokoto

April 02, (THEWILL) — Police Command in Sokoto State, on Thursday, doled out over ₦33 million to the families of deceased police officers as part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Week.

The event marked the culmination of week-long activities in the state, ahead of the grand finale, scheduled to be held at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Speaking during the presentation, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, described the occasion as both solemn and significant.

He noted that it reflects the commitment of the Force leadership to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

The Commissioner stated that the sacrifices of fallen officers remain invaluable and will never be forgotten.

Shaffa encouraged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support provided, while assuring them that the Nigeria Police Force will continue to stand by them.

He, however, assured the beneficiaries that the Nigeria Police Force stands with them and will continue to provide support.

One of the beneficiaries, Gadi Talatu, speaking on behalf of the others, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Sokoto State Police Command for their support.

She noted that the gesture would go a long way in assisting the families and prayed for continued strength and success for the Nigeria Police Force.

A total sum was presented to eight beneficiaries, as part of efforts to support families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
