The party had among other things, alleged that the results of the presidential election was manipulated to favour Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 11 states of the federation.
It alleged that the President-elect “corruptly induced” electoral officers to falsify results at local government and state collation centres in Rivers and 10 other states.
“My Lords, we are seeking an order of this court for leave to withdraw this petition filed on March 19. As well as an order striking out or dismissing the petition, same having been withdrawn”, Agu stated.
All respondents did not object to the petition being dismissed. They commended the APP for the move, urging others to follow suit.
The respondents are President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Wole Olanipekun, counsel to Tinubu, said, “We are not opposing the application. We want to commend them and hope that more will still come.”
The Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Haruna Tsammani, subsequently dismissed the petition.
“Having listened to all the parties, we are satisfied that there is no collusion. The petition having been withdrawn, it is hereby dismissed”, the court held.
