
July 06, (THEWILL) – Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has called on Bayelsans to be actively involved and participate in the weekly Prosperity Walk initiated by his administration for healthy living.
Diri made the call on the heels of the low turnout of participants during the last edition of the weekly programme at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa.
The Governor said there are numerous benefits of embarking on the exercise.
Senator Diri equally lauded some members of the disengaged staff of the State-owned Niger Delta University (NDU), who were on a peaceful protest and was part of the exercise for their organised and matured disposition and used the opportunity to disclose to them that their demands are being addressed
Dignitaries at the occasion included Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the Deputy Governor of the State; Madam Preye Brodrick, Commissioner for Special Duties Bayelsa East Senatorial District; Barr. Biobelemoye Charles-Onyeama mni, Head of the Bayelsa State Civil Service; Sir Braveman Wodi, Director, Bayelsa State Sports Council; and Madam Grace Alagoa, Ag. Permanent Secretary, Youths and Sports Development Ministry amongst others.
