
SAN FRANCISCO, June 15, (THEWILL) – Emeritus Professor of Medicine, Oladipo Akinkugbe, died Monday in his Ibadan residence, Oyo State, at the age of 86.
Family sources confirmed his demise according to multiple news reports.
The foremost professor, who had a career spanning over 55 years in medicine before he retired, was until his death the Chairman of the Board of Management of University College Hospital Ibadan, Nigeria, and one-time Chairman of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
He was also Pro-Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt; a former Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; a former Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin; and a former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ibadan.
