This followed an alarm raised by a Delta-based politician, Harrison Gwamnishu.

“The police officers attached to Rivers State Police Command left Portharcourt to ABA, ABIA State, arrested the man, took him to Rivers State, Bayelsa State and entered Ughelli, Delta State. After paying 3000USDT, they moved him back to Portharcourt and dumped him.

“Let it be on record that the Commissioner of Police Rivers State Command is aware of this Kidnapping by men under his supervision.”

Gwamnishu also posted a video of himself narrating how the incident happened on January 16, 2024.

While the identity of the victim remained unknown, Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, in a terse statement on Saturday, said the personnel have been identified and arrested; adding that the outcome of Police investigation will be made public as soon as it was concluded.
