BEVERLY HILLS, December 15, (THEWILL) – The Senate on Thursday swore in the three senators who were returned by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as winners of last Saturday’s National Assembly rerun election in Rivers State.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who administered the oath of office on Magnus Abe, APC, Rivers South; George Sekibo, PDP, Rivers East and Osinachukwu Ideozu, PDP, Rivers West at about 2:14 pm, congratulated the trio on their victory at the polls.
He went on to charge them to perform their legislative assignments to the expectations of their constituents, who he noted, reposed confidence on them by sending them to the Senate.
Shortly after the development, the Senate announced that it had adjourned plenary to January 10, 2017 for the Christmas break.
