December 20, (THEWILL) – A lecturer in the Department of Biology, Mr. Okedara Emmanuel was shot by armed robbers who invaded the staff quarters of the Polytechnic of Ibadan in the early hours on Monday.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Soladoye Adewole, who confirmed the incident, said the attack occurred at about 12:30 a.m at the North campus of Ibadan Polytechnic.
He said Emmanuel,l was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan for treatment of the gunshot wounds.
Adewole, who said that no life was lost in the attack added that the incident has been reported to the police and security has been scaled up at the campus.
