
September 25, (THEWILL) – Russia has placed the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Piotr Hofmanski, on its wanted list.
“Hofmanski Piotr Jozef, Polish. Wanted under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” the Russian Interior Ministry said in a notice on Monday, without providing details of the allegations against Hofmanski.
Russia had earlier issued arrest warrants for ICC prosecutor, Karim Khan, and several judges.
THEWILL recalls that the ICC had in March, announced an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin over an alleged war crime bothering on the unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children.
The ICC also issued a warrant against Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, on similar charges.
Russia, which is not a member of the ICC, insists the warrant against Putin is “void”.
