President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of 17 new Chief Executives for Parastatals and Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Education.
While some of the appointments amounted to the sack of the former CEOs, some others had their leadership replaced after the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent.
All the appointments take effect from August 1, 2016.
Those appointed are:
Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed – National Universities Commission
Prof. Lilian Salami – Nigerian Institute for Education Planning and Administration
Dr. Hameed Bobboyi – Universal Basic Education
Prof Lanre Aina – National library of Nigeria
Prof. Charles Uwakwe – National Examinations Council
Prof. Abba Aladu – National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal education
Prof. Bashir Usman – Nomadic education Commission
Prof. Isioma Isiugo-Abanihe – National Business and technical Examinations Board
Prof. Sunday Josiah Ajiboye – Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria
Afolabi Aderinto – Computer Registration Council of Nigeria
Prof. Bappah Aliyu – National Commission for Colleges of Education
Dr. Abdullahi Bichi Baffa – Tertiary Education Trust Fund
Prof. Michael Afolabi – National Teachers Institute
Prof. Steven Ejugwu Onah – National Mathematical Centre
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede – Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB
Prof. Chinyere Ohiri-Aniche – National Institute of Nigerian Languages
Similarly, the President approved that the following Chief Executives be retained in their respective agencies:
Prof. Samaila Junaidu – Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council
Prof Rauuf Adebisi – Nigerian French Language Village
Dr. Mas’ud Kazaure – National board for technical education
Prof. Muhammad Mu’az – National Arabic language Village.
