
February 05, (THEWILL) – The senate committee on aviation, on Wednesday, screened and cleared Capt Chris Najomo for confirmation as the substantive Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCCA).
At the end of the screening, the lawmakers told Najomo to take a bow and leave, as his name would be presented at the plenary for final confirmation.
The new Director General was endorsed by a very high percentage of the members of the Senate Committee present at the meeting.
Before now, there were lots of expectations in the nation’s aviation industry, as President Bola Tinubu had two weeks ago, asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of Captain Chris Najomo as the substantive Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) .
Tinubu had earlier approved Najomo’s nomination following a recommendation by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN.
Najomo has been in an acting capacity as NCAA DG since his appointment on December 13, 2023, following the suspension of Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu.
