July 27, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Senate has declared a seven-week annual recess, effective Wednesday, July 27, 2022..
This followed the adjournment of the plenary, on Wednesday by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, till September 20, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Red chamber, on Wednesday, said it would summon the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, over inflation and naira devaluation.
The lawmakers, who lamented the rising exchange rate, noted that the United States dollar to naira had now risen to N700.
The development, the Senators said, was sad and calls for immediate attention.
