October 18, (THEWILL) – The Senate, on Wednesday, commenced screening and confirmation hearing for Ola Olukoyede and Muhammad Hassan Hammajoda for appointment as Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

THEWILL reports that President Tinubu had on Thursday, October 12, appointed Olukoyede and Hammajoda as the new EFCC Chairman and Secretary respectively for a renewable term of four years in the first instance, pending Senate confirmation.

If confirmed, Olukoyede would succeed Abdulrasheed Bawa as EFCC Boss, making him the first Southerner to chair the anti-graft agency.
