BEVERLY HILLS, February 21, (THEWILL) – Senator Abdullahi Adamu has denied the allegation that he mismanaged funds belonging to the Northern Senators Forum, describing it as false and baseless.
THEWILL recalls that the Northern Senators Forum had removed Senator Adamu, as the Chairman of the Forum and replaced him with Senator Aliyu Wamakko on Wednesday morning after accusing him of mismanaging N70m belonging to it.
Senator Adamu is one of the nine senators who rejected the decision of the Senate to change the sequence of the general election, arguing that it was targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, Senator Shehu Sani, briefing journalists after the plenary insisted that Senator Adamu was not being targeted because he disagreed with the decision of the Senate to change the sequence of elections in the Electoral Act.
He revealed that the money belonging to the group was missing adding that perhaps the money was stolen by Monkeys.
However, in an exclusive interview with Channels Television on Wednesday night, the Senator Adamu said the allegation against him is because he rejected the decision of the Senate.
Unlike Senator Omo-Agege, one of those who rejected the decision with Senator Adamu and has apologised to the Senate during plenary on Wednesday, Senator Adamu said he would stand by his decision, vowing to resist being swayed by any decision the Senate takes regarding his position.
