SGF, TYONEX GROUP Flag Off Free Diarrhoea Treatment Programme For 10,000 Children In Benue

December 25, (THEWILL) – The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, in partnership with a pharmaceutical company, TYONEX GROUP, has flagged off a free diarrhoea treatment programme for 10,000 children in Benue State.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony on Saturday, at Primary Health Care Center, Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area in Benue State, the Group Managing Director of the company, Dr Emmanuel Tyohemba Agba, noted that the unwavering dedication of Senator George Akume to the well-being and prosperity of the Benue State is truly commendable.

“The collaboration between your office and TYONEX GROUP reflects your visionary leadership and commitment to improving the lives of the people in the state,” Agba said.

According to Dr Agba, through this impactful initiative, Senator Akume not only addressed a critical health concern but has also demonstrated his ability to forge meaningful partnerships for the greater good.

“By prioritising the health and welfare of the children in Benue State, you have undoubtedly made a lasting and positive impact that will resonate for generations to come,” he stated.

The Group Managing Director posited that the success of the free Diarrhoea Treatment program serves as a shining example of Senator Akume’s ability to lead, inspire, and effect meaningful change.

“May this achievement be just one of many milestones on your journey of service and progress; your dedication and hard work are making a difference in the lives of the Benue people and your legacy will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of those you have touched,” Dr Agba said.

In his remarks, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who was represented at the occasion by the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, Dr Tyover Ashinya, appreciated Pharmacist Agba for the collaboration to eradicate diarrhoea in the State.

He assured of the Federal Government’s continuous support to provide a healthy environment for Nigerians at every level in the community.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Tarka Local Government Area, Mr Terna Ashirga, who was represented by the Supervisory Councillor for Finance, called for prayers for Senator Akume to succeed in office and go higher in the course of his life journey.

He assured of the Council’s readiness to collaborate in ensuring a healthy life for people in the area, noting that the medical products will be distributed to the ten healthcare centres in the Council.

The Paramount ruler of Tarka Local Government, Ter Mbakor, HRH Chief Geoffrey Gandeorun Orukaa, promised to mobilise his subjects to come out to embrace the drugs to eradicate diarrhoea in the area and commended Dr Agba for the gesture.

Earlier, the State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Dan Ihomun, who was the chairman of the Central Planning Committee, said under Senator George Akume as SGF, better things will continue to positively affect Benue people.

The Unit Head, Primary Healthcare Centre, Wannune, Mrs Comfort Kungwa, while taking delivery of the products, promised to ensure judicious use of it to achieve the purpose it was meant.
