November 16, (THEWILL) — The Chairman of Dange-Shuni Local Government Council in Sokoto State, Hon. Aminu Nagaji Bodai, says his administration has implemented several developmental projects aimed at enhancing the living standards of residents.
He disclosed this at the weekend while conducting journalists led by the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Usman Binji, around various completed and ongoing projects in the council.
He pointed out the recent renovation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in the area. Bodai said the renovation was carried out to boost civic engagement and create a conducive environment for voter registration and other electoral activities.
According to him, the council has executed numerous interventions under the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, who he noted remains committed to strengthening infrastructure and improving public welfare across all local government areas.
The projects, he said, span critical sectors, including road construction, solar-powered streetlights, drainage channels, boreholes, and the renovation of the Primary Healthcare Centre.
Bodai explained that these efforts have significantly eased the burden on residents, especially those in underserved and flood-prone communities.
He highlighted road construction as one of the most impactful initiatives, adding that farmers and other community members have expressed satisfaction over improved accessibility and reduced flooding.
During the assessment tour, journalists also visited ongoing and completed projects in Bodinga Local Government Area, including the Water Scheme and livestock markets.
The Vice Chairman of the council applauded Governor Aliyu for his visionary leadership and continuous support for grassroots development, noting that the interventions have enhanced living standards and strengthened community cohesion.
In his remarks, NUJ Chairman, Comrade Binji, called for strong community involvement in protecting public infrastructure.
He urged residents to take ownership of government projects to ensure their sustainability.
