February 09, (THEWILL) – The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Mannir Muhammad Dan Iya, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His resignation was announced in a letter dated February 8, 2023, and addressed to his Ward Chairman in Kware, Kware Local Government.
The letter titled, ‘Letter of Withdrawal From the Peoples Democratic Party’, reads: “I write to notify you of the withdrawal of my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from 8th February 2023.
“I appreciate the opportunities given to me, which made me serve in various capacities under the PDP.
“Accept my best regards.”
This is coming a few hours to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s mega rally in the state.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to lead the presidential campaign rally of the APC in Sokoto, on Thursday, to present the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the people of the state.
THEWILL gathered that Dan Iya, who is currently the Sokoto Central senatorial candidate of the PDP, will be received by President Muhammadu Buhari, into the APC this Thursday.
