May 06, (THEWILL) –Â Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southwest, are currently meeting presidential aspirants from the zone, over the 2023 general elections.
The former governor of Ogun State, chief Olusegun Osoba and the former governor of Osun State, chief Bisi Akande, are conveying the meeting at Lagos Flag House, Marina, Lagos.
The meeting, is said to be focused on presenting a united front for the region on securing the party’s presidential ticket.
THEWILL learnt that party leaders in the zone are concerned about the number of aspirants from the region, saying it might jeopardise their chances during the party primaries.
Present at the ongoing meeting are Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; former Lagos governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi; Senator Ibikunle Amosun; Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
Also present at the meeting are Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, the deputy senate leader, Prof Ajayi Boroface, as well as APC governors from the south-west region.
