March 17, (THEWILL) – The Supreme Court, on Friday, affirmed David Jimkuta, as the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Taraba South Senatorial District election.
The ruling followed an appeal filed by Danjuma Shiddi, one of the party’s senatorial aspirants, challenging the candidacy of Jimkuta.
Recall that Jimkuta had defeated the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to win the February 25 election for the Senatorial District.
Jimkuta had polled 85,415 votes to beat Governor Ishaku, who scored 45,708 votes.
