November 23, (THEWILL) –Â The suspended Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari, has reportedly fled to the Niger Republic.
The Adamawa State High Court sitting in Yola, was informed about the development on Wednesday.
THEWILL recalls that Yinusa-Ari was suspended by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for declaring the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Aishatu Binani, the winner of the Adamawa Gubernatorial election, while the process was still ongoing.
The police had told newsmen that it was unaware of the whereabouts of the suspended REC.
However, during court proceedings on Wednesday, Hudu’s lawyer, Suleiman Usman (SAN), told Justice Benjamin Manji Lawan that the suspended REC is in Niger Republic with his second wife.
He, however, promised to produce his client in court and pleaded for an adjournment.
