
December 07, (THEWILL) – World-famous American singer and songwriter, Taylor Alison Swift, has been declared the first musician to achieve the feat of becoming a billionaire solely based on her songs and performances.
Her fortune includes more than $500 million in estimated wealth amassed from royalties and touring, plus a music catalogue worth $500 million and some $125 million in real estate.
Swift kicked off 2023 with remarkable momentum. Her tenth studio album, Midnights, debuted with over 1.5 million units sold in its first week, shattering Billboard and Spotify records.
Swift achieved the unprecedented feat of dominating the entire top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 with tracks from Midnights. The album claimed the title of the most-streamed in a single day on Spotify, and Swift herself set a record for the most-streamed artist in a day.
The lead single, Anti-Hero, soared with over 1.2 billion Spotify streams and held the Hot 100’s top spot for eight consecutive weeks, marking one of her lengthiest No. 1 hits.
She was also announced on Wednesday, as Time Magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year, surpassing newly crowned King Charles III, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Barbie.
Similarly, Forbes magazine named her as one of the most influential women in the world for the year 2023.
Expressing her joy, Swift shared, “This is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been.”
