SAN FRANCISCO, January 10, (THEWILL) –The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Seriake Dickson, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and incumbent Governor, winner of the Bayelsa State Gubernatorial poll.
Announcing the results, Prof Zana Akpagu, Chief Returning Officer, declared that Dickson, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest votes is hereby returned elected.
With the announcement, the elections, which began on December 5, 2015 but was moved to December 6 in Southern Ijaw local government, which was later cancelled due to violence, and rescheduled for January 9, has now ended.
All other issues will be handled by the elections tribunal.
