January 05, (THEWILL) – Three persons, who were kidnapped along Port Harcourt International Airport Aluu-Igwuruta Road, on Tuesday, January 2, have regained freedom from their abductors.

While THEWILL can not independently confirm if any ransom was paid by the victims, the Spokesperson of the Rivers Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said they were released due to pressure from security operatives who went after their abductors.

She added that the victims have been reunited with their families

SP Iringe-Koko said the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, met with Area Commanders, DPOs and tactical team Commanders within the area and instructed them to ensure that those abducted regained their freedom.
