January 25, (THEWILL) – Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has urged Muslims to intensify prayers for divine blessings, unity, and protection from evildoers across the country.
Speaking on Saturday during the 39th Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas Maulud held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, Yusuf emphasised the importance of seeking Allah’s intervention in the nation’s affairs.
“I urge all Muslims to continue praying for Allah’s blessings and protection against the perpetrators of evil. We should also pray for economic prosperity, unity, and good health for all Nigerians,” the governor said.
Yusuf highlighted Kano’s historical ties to the Tijjaniyya Islamic Movement, noting that the late Emir Abdullahi Bayero was instrumental in introducing the movement’s revered leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas, to Nigeria.
He further disclosed that this marked the third time Kano was hosting the Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas Maulud, expressing gratitude to Allah for granting the state the privilege to host such a significant event.
Earlier, the leader of the Tijjaniyya Islamic Movement in Nigeria and Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, expressed joy at the turnout of participants, whom he described as “Guests of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Guests of our leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas.”
The Emir extended gratitude to the families of the late Sheikh Inyas and other dignitaries who traveled from Senegal, Niger Republic, Morocco, Mauritania, and various parts of Nigeria to attend the event.
He also appreciated Governor Yusuf, his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, and other state government officials for their efforts in ensuring the event’s success.
The Maulud featured special prayers, Qur’anic recitations, and a historical review of the life and legacy of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas, underscoring his contributions to the spread of Islam and unity among Muslims.
THEWILL reports that the event drew a diverse crowd of faithful from across Nigeria and beyond, reinforcing Kano’s position as a hub for Islamic scholarship and spirituality.
