Tinubu Meets Defence Ministers, Service Chiefs At Villa

September 04, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, met with Defence Ministers and Service Chiefs at the State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

THEWILL reports that the meeting came ahead of the President’s scheduled trip to India.

President Tinubu is expected to depart Abuja on Monday, to attend the G-20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, India, on the special invitation of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The meeting with the security Chiefs may not be unconnected to developments in the country.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has planned a two-day warning strike scheduled for Tuesday, September 5th and Wednesday, 6th September.

The warning strike is coming amid tension over the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) fixed for Wednesday, September 6th.

The Service Chiefs, who attended the meeting include the Chief of Army Staff (CAS), Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja, his Navy counterpart, Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa.

The Ministers of Defence, Mohammed Badaru and Bello Matawalle, also attended the meeting.
