Tinubu Reaffirms Confidence In Gbajabiamila, Orders Immediate Halt To Calumny Campaign

October 30, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his confidence in his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The President spoke on Monday, amid rumour that Gbajabiamila had monetised appointments into President Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, President Tinubu said he has absolute confidence in the integrity of Gbajabiamila.

He called for an immediate end to what he referred to as a calumny campaign.

“First of all, let me reiterate to all of you the fact that a lot of stories are going around about what is happening. I’ve told everyone in this country that I can make mistakes, they’re bound to air them out and correct them.

“Perfection is that of God Almighty. I have absolute confidence in the integrity of my Chief of Staff. All campaigns of calumny and insinuations should stop, the buck stops here.

“If I make a mistake, I’m ready to own up to it and we’re all joining hands to fight corruption and we want to enforce the law along with you,” he said.

Earlier, THEWILL reported that Gbajabiamila dismissed speculations about his potential removal from office, saying his agenda is not driven by personal gain or politics motivated by financial interests.

Responding to the allegations of alleged monetisation of appointment in a statement on Sunday, Gbajabiamila said he remained unfazed and no amount of propaganda will sway his commitment to the critical assignment of the “renewed hope agenda” and the promise of good governance for the people of Nigeria.
