May 20, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has returned from Europe where he had been on a working visit for 10 days.
THEWILL reports that Tinubu’s jet touched down at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on Saturday afternoon.
He was received by Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima; Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Senator-elect, Godswill Akpabio, and APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, among other party bigwigs.
The President-elect had on May 10, 2023, embarked on the trip to Europe.
His Media aide, Tunde Rahman, had said Tinubu would meet with investors and finetune his transition plans while abroad.
“He will use the opportunity of the trip to finetune the transition plans and programmes, and his policy options with some of his key aides without unnecessary pressures and distractions,” Rahman said in a statement.
He further noted that in the course of the visit, Tinubu will also meet with investors and other key allies to market investment opportunities in the country as well as his administration’s readiness to create a business-friendly climate through policies and regulations.
“Already, meetings with multi-sectoral actors in Europe’s business community, including manufacturing, agriculture, tech and energy have been lined up.
“Asíwájú Tinubu hopes to convince them of Nigeria’s readiness to do business under his leadership through mutually-beneficial partnerships premised on jobs creation and skills acquisition.
“He is scheduled to return shortly for preparations towards his official swearing-in as the 16th President of the country on May 29, 2023,” the statement had said.
