SAN FRANCISCO, March 9, (THEWILL) –Â A former military governor of old Bendel State (now split into Edo and Delta states), Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, has died at the age of 85.
He reportedly passed away about 11pm on Thursday in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
THEWILL gathered that the legendary soldier and politician had been frail in the past few years up to the time of his passing.
Born on September 17, 1932, Ogbemudia was the military governor of the Mid-West State, later renamed Bendel State between 1967 to 1975.
