September 6, (THEWILL) – The Election Petition Tribunal Sitting in Umuahia, Abia State, has sacked the Labour Party (LP) member representing Isukwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Amobi Ogah.
The Tribunal, in a judgement on Wednesday, declared Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the authentic winner of the February 25 National Assembly election in Isukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.
THEWILL reports that Nkiru Onyejeocha is the current Minister of State, Labour & Employment.
In its judgement, the Tribunal, after recomputing the votes cast polling unit by polling unit, found out Hon Onyejiocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 11,936, while Amobi Ogah of Labour Party scored 9,738.
Consequently, the Tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Ogah and reissue same to the petitioner, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
