UBA Launches 2025 Customer Service Week, Pledges Easier Banking Experience for Users

UBA - United bank for Africa

October 08, (THEWILL) — United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has commenced activities marking its 2025 Customer Service Week, themed “Mission: Possible”, reaffirming its commitment to improving customer experience across all service touchpoints.

The week-long event, which began on Monday, is designed to celebrate customers while delivering tangible improvements in service delivery through targeted programmes, staff training, and operational enhancements.

According to the bank, the initiative aims to strengthen customer trust and satisfaction by addressing recurring pain points and providing value-driven engagements.

UBA disclosed that several activities have been lined up for the week.

These include special workshops for small and medium enterprises designed to help them scale operations, manage finances, and optimise UBA’s digital tools for business growth.

The bank is also hosting financial literacy campaigns to deepen customers’ understanding of personal finance, savings, and credit management in today’s economic climate.

In addition, a national essay competition for senior secondary school students will promote youth engagement and educational development across the country.

The bank also stated that it will intensify efforts to streamline internal processes, improve staff responsiveness, and enhance its digital platforms to ensure smoother customer interactions.

UBA noted that the initiatives reflect its commitment to reducing wait times across branches, providing faster support on digital channels, and empowering customers with financial knowledge to make informed decisions.

It added that the focus on technology upgrades and customer education would extend financial access to underserved segments such as SMEs, rural customers, and students.

Analysts say UBA’s renewed focus on service excellence reflects an ongoing industry shift, as Nigerian banks increasingly compete on customer experience rather than product offerings alone.

Competitors such as GTBank, Access Bank, and FirstBank have in recent years intensified customer engagement and technology adoption, making service delivery a key differentiator.

UBA’s 2025 Customer Service Week, therefore, could serve as a litmus test for how effectively the bank translates its promises into sustainable operational change.

While the week offers an opportunity for engagement and goodwill, industry watchers note that the true measure of success will lie in whether customers see lasting improvements in service quality in the months ahead.
