BEVERLY HILLS, November 07, (THEWILL) – Former Vice President Joe Biden has been elected the 46th president of the United States.
Biden received more than 4 million more votes than Trump overall
The president-elect took an insurmountable lead in Pennsylvania on Saturday morning, the fifth day of vote-counting after Election Day. The victory in the Keystone States gives him 273 electoral votes in states where a winner has been projected, surpassing the 270 needed votes.
His success is the culmination of 50 years in public service: 36 years in the Senate, eight years as Vice President, and two failed previous presidential campaigns.
At 78 on Inauguration Day, he will be the oldest President to take office.
Sen. Kamala Harris will join the President-elect as the first Black, Indian, and female Vice President in American history. .
The win ends 18 months of constant campaigning in what was the most tumultuous presidential election in modern history.
With Biden’s victory, Trump becomes the 13th president to lose reelection and just the fourth to do so since the end of World War II.
