October 06, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has assured the public that it has no intention to increase pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as Petrol.
THEWILL had earlier reported the reintroduction of subsidy on PMS.
Although President Bola Tinubu had in his National broadcast on October 1, insisted that the removal of payment on subsidy on Petrol would remain.
Amid incidents of panic buying of Petrol by motorists and other users at Petrol Stations since Wednesday, as marketers said the landing cost of the product has increased at depot, the NNPC, in a terse statement posted on its verified social media handles on Friday, assured the public that the pump price of petrol would remain unchanged.
Titled “Important Notice”, the Company asked Nigerians to buy the best-quality products at the most affordable prices at its retail stations nationwide.
“Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.
“Please buy the best-quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide”, a post on the NNPCL’s X handle read.
